The Department of Public Safety announced this week that it will continue offering Saturday appointments at select commercial driver license (CDL) offices.

The hours on Dec. 4 and 11 will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 7-11 a.m. on Dec. 18. The offices will take appointments during this time for those who need to apply, renew, replace or upgrade their Texas CDL in the month of December.

Participating DPS offices open during these times include locations in Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, Midland and Wichita Falls.

DPS encourages those needing to renew CDLs and get vehicle inspections to do so where they reside due to different counties having different requirements. However, renewals can be accomplished at other locations if it’s easier or more convenient.

Appoints must be made online at Driver license offices will remain open Monday-Friday during normal operating hours to assist customers with both commercial and non-commercial drive license needs.

Appointments can be made up to six months in advance for a specific day and time.
