The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team dropped their last game of the Gruver Holiday Classic on Dec. 30th, to Claude, 55-50.
With the loss, the Nettes finished the tournament 2-2.
Claude jumped out to an early, 12-7, lead in the first quarter, but Sudan poured in 18 points in the second frame to take a, 25-21, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Claude though would bounce back in the third quarter, outscoring the Nettes, 14-5, to reclaim the lead, 35-30, heading into the final quarter of play. Both teams notched 20 points in the fourth quarter, as the Nettes fell short against Claude, 55-50.
Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with 28 points to go along with four rebounds and one assist, while Addison Boehning chipped in six points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Liz Sital added six points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal, while Landree Gonzales chipped in three points and one block.
Gracyn Shultz contributed three points, one rebound and one assist, while Braelyn Pointer added two points, one rebound and one assist and Riley Edens finished with two points and four rebounds.
The Nettes will open district play on Friday at Seagraves to take on the Lady Eagles.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
