The Muleshoe Lady Mules held off a late surge from the Littlefield Lady Cats on Friday, 35-33, during their seeding game to determine second and third place in District 3-3A.

With the win, the Lady Mules will enter the play-offs as the No. 2 seed, while the Lady Cats will enter as the No. 3 seed.

The Lady Mules kept the wins coming on Monday in the Class 3A-Bi-district round of the play-offs as they traveled to Monahans and took down Presidio, 55-20.

Against Littlefield on Friday, the Lady Mules jumped out in front early, leading the Lady Cats, 14-1, after the first quarter. Littlefield would cut into the lead in the second quarter, but trailed the Lady Mules, 26-10, going into the locker room at halftime.

The Lady Cats, though, would outscore the Lady Mules, 13-7, in the third quarter and, 9-2, in the fourth quarter, but fell just short in their comeback efforts, 35-33.

Nataly Ambriz led the team in scoring with a game-high 13 points, while Kyle Hernandez chipped in eight points and Juliana Diaz added six points. Kylee Villa added four points in the contest, while Idaly Tarango finished with three points.

The Lady Mules took on Shallowater in the Area round of the 3A Basketball Play-offs. Results were not available at press time.
