The Muleshoe boys golf team played their best against the elements last week. Cash Reeder ended the regional tournament tied for 12th place and was just show of gaining a spot in the state contest. Coach Steven Butler acknowledged that Tuesday’s tournament was tough.

“It was one of the most competitive regional tournaments for the boys in years,” he said.

The boys competed on April 19. The girls team competed two days later.

Golfer Brenna Butler shot 109 on the first day of the regional golf tournament and then 93 on Friday earning her a 31st overall ranking out of 90 golfers. She finished the day as the highest-ranking player in Muleshoe’s district.
