The Professional Bull Riders organization will host its World Finals in Fort Worth this year and Muleshoe-native Dalton Kasel will be among the participants.

The 2022 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast is set for May 13-22 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

Forty riders have qualified to compete, including Kasel.

The contest will feature seven long rounds and a championship round.

Activities will begin this (opening) weekend on Friday and Saturday at 6:45 p.m. with rounds one and two. The third round is set for Sunday at 1:45 p.m.

Riders will have a few days to prepare for round four, which is set for May 19 at 7:45 p.m. Rounds five and six will follow on May 20 and May 21 at the same time.

The seventh round is set for May 22 at 8:45 a.m.

Rounds one, three, four and six will be a random draw. Rounds two, five and seven will feature a draft format.

The championship round will be pre-set.

The rider with the most points at the end of the tournament will earn the PBR World Finals event title and $300,000. The top ranked rider will be crowned the 2022 PBR World Champion earning a $1 million bonus and the golden buckle.

Kasel was named the PBR Rookie of the Year in 2019 and has since worked his way to being ranked. The 23-year-old bull rider was ranked No. 8 in the world as of Tuesday morning.

Kasel is a Farwell graduate. He is the son of Tim and Kristin Kasel.
