Clovis Police Department is further investigating the death of a 17-year-old woman believed to have been a victim of homicide.

On Wednesday, the Clovis Police Department issued information regarding a callout to 1000 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Clovis where a reporting party informed PD of a man having been shot in the head. Responding officers found a woman who has not yet been identified publicly.

She was on the floor inside the entryway of an apartment building with an apparent gunshot wound. EMS transported the young woman to Plains Regional Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The incident was reported at 12:38 a.m. Aug. 3.

The investigation remains active.
