            The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity cross country team competed at West Texas A&M University’s Twilight Meet on Thursday, where they finished sixth overall as a team.

            Back-to-back state cross country champ and junior Taytum Goodman led the field placing first overall clocking a time of 11:29.41.

            Emma Samaron finished 28th overall with a time of 15:11.96, while Jasmine Garcia finished 39th with a time of 15:49.41. Aryca Ibarra finished 46th overall with a time of 16:38.86, while Marisela Rodriguez finished 49th with a time of 16:41.93 and Rylie Furr finished 52nd with a time of 17:01.48.

            Jenna Bridges finished 53rd with a time of 17:01.89, while Jessica Mendoza finished 54th with a time of 17:51.32.

            On the JV side of things, Violeta Martinez finished 26th with a time of 18:29.21, while Gabryela Tovar finished 30th with a time of 19:54.92, and Sydney Furr finished 34th with a time of 21:30.00.

            The Lady Wolverines will be in action again on Sept. 10 at Lubbock Christian University.
