Sudan just could not get going on offense last Friday as they lost their season opener. The team traveled to Olton where they lost 49-0 against the Mustangs.

The Hornets attempted to the establish the run game throughout the contest to no avail leading to quick drives. This forced the defense on the field for long stints and susception to big plays throughout.

QB Trent Wilson could not get a groove on through the air or on the ground, completing only two passes and rushing for 16 yards on 20 carries, according to MaxPreps.

Josue Cervera led the team in rushing with 35 yards on 7 rushes.

The Sudan offense had less than 100 yards of total offense and could not stop the Olton passing game. Olton racked up over 400 yards of total offense, 311 of which through the air.

This loss moves the Hornets to 0-1 for the year and Olton moves to 1-0.

Sudan will stay on the road as they match up against Tahoka (0-1) this week. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

Olton is also traveling this week to face Dimmitt (0-1) at 7 p.m.
