At the regular meeting of the MISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 22, the board accepted a $4,500 donation from the Wilbur-Ellis Company.

Both Matt Davis and Randy Cain, Wilbur-Ellis Company representatives, submitted applications to the Wilbur-Ellis Corporate Office to assist Muleshoe schools. The corporate office approved the donation.

Dr. R.L. Richards, MISD superintendent, said the donation will be used specifically to help furnish the new Dani Heathington Activity Center.

An agribusiness company, Wilbur-Ellis is located in Muleshoe and throughout the U.S.

“We’re excited about the donation,” Richards said. “The board appreciates all local businesses that have been willing to support Muleshoe students in the learning process,”
