After an exciting summer, Muleshoe Area Public Library is getting ready for Hispanic Heritage Month.

“This is our first year that we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month,” said assistant librarian Frances Recio. “The celebration begins on September 15 and continues through October 15.”

According to a flyer provided by the library, 2022 Hispanic Heritage Month highlights celebratory events, history, people and digital collections that represent Hispanic, Latinx and Chicano/a/x communities. The theme is Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation.

“For the four weeks, at 4:30 p.m. through 5:30 p.m., we will read some Hispanic books and have a take-home activity each Monday. On the final Monday we will watch the movie ‘Coco,’” Recio said.
