Back in 2021, Billy and Sarah Drennan unknowingly had the same dream.

It was just a dream. There wasn’t anything significant so neither of them brought it up to each other until about a week later.

The couple happened to mention their dream to the other and were surprised by the similarities. The gist was simply creating a gathering to bring people closer to God. So that’s what they did.

Now they’re preparing to host the second annual Awake West Texas event next weekend.

The event – which the couple hopes will “ignite a spiritual awakening,” as the flyer indicates – will be Sept. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mallet Event Center in Levelland.

The event will include two speakers – Hirchie Schaffner, lifestyle Christianity director, and Roger Morris, with Bill & Roger Ministries.

In addition to those guest speakers, there will also be live worship. The Drennans said Abernathy United will perform during worship.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Those interested in learning additional information are encouraged to check out, or the AwakenWestTexas Facebook page, or call (806)893-4902.

The Mallet Event Center is located at 2320 South, 2320 US 385 in Levalland.
