Muleshoe pulled off an impressive win over a previously undefeated Brownfield squad in a high scoring thriller 39-37. Muleshoe’s Daniel Sianez had a huge game on the ground, rushing for 172 yards and two scores including a 77-yard rushing touchdown. Quarterback Nathan Martens had a very efficient game in the pocket as well with a near perfect quarterback rating of 146.9. The sophomore completed 12 of 15 passes for 139 yards and two passing touchdowns. Senior Irvin Torres was the main recipient of those passes as he caught nine balls for 109 yards and two scores.

Defensively the Mules came to play as they forced five turnovers in the contest. Four of those five turnovers were interceptions. Davian McMullen led the way defensively as he collected 15 total tackles with 2 tackles for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery. As of right now, the Mules are one of the hottest teams in 3A as their win streak continues to grow. Right now the streak sits at three as they look towards district competition.

Friday, Muleshoe will look to repeat their success as they take on another undefeated team. The Mules travel on the road to take on No. 6 ranked Bushland Friday night.
