Mistletoe in the Shoe presents crafts, silent auction, meal to benefit Senior Citizens Center
GAIL M. WILLIAMS October 25, 2022 0 COMMENTSMistletoe in the Shoe, a holiday crafts market, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Oneita Wagnon Senior Citizens Center at 319 S. Main. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Senior Citizens Center.
“The event is new for the Senior Citizens Center,” said events chair Dani Heathington. “We have 28 vendors coming from Post, Amarillo, Clovis, Muleshoe, Farwell and Abernathy. The market has been advertised in all surrounding areas including Lubbock. All proceeds from the booth fees will benefit the Senior Citizens Center.”
Items for sale will include a variety of handmade crafts, T-shirts, laser-decorated cups, various kinds of clothes, candles and baked goods.
“We’re requesting vendors to donate an item from their booth to the silent auction,” Heathington said. “Proceeds from the auction will also go to the Senior Center.”
The silent auction takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Seniors will sell a pulled pork sandwich meal, and food trucks from Jett Fire Barbecues, Tacos El Pick’y and Rolo’s Roasted Corn will be there.
Booth set-up is Friday, Nov. 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Set up must be completed no later than 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Event co-chairs Heathington and Glenda Mills are donating their time to the holiday crafts market.
“The Senior Citizens Center serves a lot of people,” Heathington said. “Mistletoe in the Shoe is just a chance for us to help them meet their basic needs including upkeep of everything.”
