The Wolverines are moving on after a close win over Spur 50-42 to secure the Bi-District championship.

This game was as tight as it can get. Both squads traded scores throughout the contest with neither extending their lead past one-score for the entire game.

In the late in the second half, Springlake-Earth looked to pull away with back-to-back scores to put them up 42-36 with two minutes left in the third quarter. Spur would tie the game back up with eight minutes left in the fourth at 42 to lead to a climatic finish.

The Wolverines drove the ball down the field and concluded with a Jerry Gallegos rushing score with five minutes left in the game. With one last chance, Spur looked to even the score but could not as they turned the ball over on downs with two minutes left in the contest to secure the win for the Wolverines.

Springlake-Earth moves on to the area round with the win and will take on No. 11 ranked Nazareth in Petersburg. Kickoff is Friday at 7:30 p.m.
