Petersburg’s Dilon Bruington and Springlake-Earth’s Roel Fuentes were among others selected to participate in the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association All-Star game this summer.

Dilon Bruington (No. 2 as pictured) was a 1st Team All-District running back. He was the lead back in the Buffaloes rushing attack this season.

“It’s just a credit to him and his work ethic,” Petersburg head coach Scotty Bruington said. “He’s very excited for it and hopes everything works out for him to go play in the game.”

The TSMCA recently released their All-State Team’s for the 2022 season and two area players were selected for the Six-Man Division I West team. Fuentes and Bruington were among 16 players to be selected for the West Team and 30 overall in division I.

“He meant a lot to the team, on both sides of the ball defensively and offensively,” Springlake-Earth head coach James Ball said. “He’s a no-quit type of player who is going to go full blast on both sides of the ball.”

Fuentes was a 2nd team All-Region Fullback (Region I) this season while Bruington was an honorable mention All-Region running back (Region I) this year.

Coaches for the East and West Teams have not been chosen yet and a set date for the game was not posted on the website at press time. Based on previous years, the all-star game typically occurs around mid-July.
