Muleshoe bus driver Linda Kathleen Patterson was recently named the 2022-2023 Property Casualty Alliance of Texas Bus Driver of the Year for Muleshoe ISD and PCAT Regional Bus Driver of the Year. According to a news release, the award was presented to Patterson by Muleshoe Superintendent R.L. Richards and PCAT representative Walker Trudeau March 2.

“We’re honored to recognize the effort, sacrifice and great care exhibited by school bus drivers throughout the PCAT program,” said Rick Edwards, President of Edwards Risk Management, Inc. “When I consider the heartfelt praise offered by other school bus drivers, supervisors, school staff, students and parents, it stands out in my mind that the accomplishments extend beyond competent driving.”

Factors that played into the awarding of the honor include multiple attributes – Leadership, attitude, perseverance, student and parent relationships, and technical skill.

PCAT is a public-school risk pool devoted to property and casualty exposures. Formed in 2003, PCAT has a membership of 174 and more than $19 billion in school properties.
