Muleshoe Art Association gearing up for annual Spring Art Show
Alice Liles March 28, 2023 0 COMMENTSMembers of the Muleshoe Art Association are preparing for their annual Spring Art Show to be held April 3 through April 7 at the Oneita Wagnon Senior Center.
Screens and display equipment will be set up Friday, March 31 at the senior center, and then entries will be accepted on Monday, April 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Judging by Jan Lloyd from Lubbock will be Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon. Categories of artwork to be judged will include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel/charcoal/pencil, photography, and miscellaneous/mixed media. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention, Best of Show, and the People’s Choice.
A student division for artwork created by Muleshoe High School art students will also be displayed and judged.
Every year the public is invited to vote for their favorite piece of art, and the People’s Choice also receives an award. This year art lovers can also vote for a People’s Choice award in the student division.
The awards reception will be Friday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m., and entries may be taken home that afternoon.
Accomplished and talented artists from Brownfield, Plains, Portales, Clovis, Lubbock, Sudan, Farwell, and other area towns will be joining Muleshoe artists in this annual competition.
Selected pieces of artwork entered in the show will also be for sale and can be taken home after the judging.
Artists interested in entering the show can enter by coming to the senior center Monday, April 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with their entries.
Everyone is invited to drop by sometime during the week to enjoy the beautiful paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and other original creations on display, and then see the winners named on Friday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m.
