Obituary: Larry Thornton

Larry Thornton, 60, of Plainview passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Kornerstone Chapel with David Roberts, Pastor of Cowboy United Church in Chandler, OK officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Road Riders donate to Special Olympics

The Muleshoe Road Riders recently presented a $200 donation to the Special Olympics, Canyon group, according to Eddie Alvarado, secretary of the Road Riders. Accepting the check is Kerry George, left, and Trace George, right. Muleshoe Road Riders consists of 20 members. The club has been part of the Muleshoe community ever since they were re-established in 1980.

The City of Muleshoe held a Special Election on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Citizens voted either for or against the following resolution:
To dissolve the existing City of Muleshoe Type A Economic Development Corporation and abolish its sales and use tax (being at the rate of one-quarter of one percent) and, concurrently, authorize the creation of a City of Muleshoe

Voters turn out for state, local elections

Muleshoe weighed in on races that were closely watched throughout the country Nov 6.
Of 3,736 registered voters, there were 904 early voters, 781 in-person and 123 by mail. There were 711 voters on Election Day for a total of 1,615.
Numbers for Election Day by precinct are as follows:
Precinct 1: 230, 2 provisional
Precinct 2: 248, 1 provisional
Precinct 3: 125, 0 provisional
Precinct 4: 108, 1 provisional
