Smith, McDaniel To Wed
Wednesday, April 02, 2014
Gregory and Katherine Smith of Dallas announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Mary Beth Smith, to Colby McDaniel of Farmers Branch.

The prospective bride is a 2010 graduate of Lake Highlands High School of Dallas, and a 2013 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science in early childhood education.

She will be teaching in the Dallas area in the fall.

The prospective bride is the granddaughter of Mary Gay George of Dallas and Judy Smith of Sherman.

The prospective groom is the son of Gary and Jenny McDaniel of Wolfforth.

He is a 2009 graduate of Frenship High School, and a 2013 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science in restaurant, hotel and institutional management.

He is currently employeed with Hilton Worldwide in revenue management, in Addison.

He is also the grandson of Evelyn Ziegenfuss of Muleshoe and Lynn and Nell McDaniel of Amherst.

The wedding is set for June 7, 2014, at 6 p.m., at the Double D Ranch in Mesquite.

Green Honored By Organization Membership

The Jennyslippers, Women Associated of the Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, honored member Ruby Green at a recent meeting.

Green was presented with a framed certificate by organization president Nancy Kidd and the members of the organization.

Green, a pioneer in Bailey County, was praised for her continued dedication to the community and the Jennyslippers.

She has serviced as president of the organization twice.

She is also a lifetime member of the Rebekahs, taking part in the organization since its inception in 1945, and serving in every office, including district deputy, and several times as Noble Grand.

An accomplished quilter, Greenís work has won Best of Show at the South Plains Fair in Lubbock on three occasions.
