Looking At Mules Football

The summer of 2015 has flown by for students, teachers, administrators and football coaches all of the great state of Texas.

School officially started on Monday but the Mules have been officially at work for almost two weeks preparing for the 2015 season.

But the Mules have been working out on their own all summer lifting weights, running, doing agility drills and passing the football.

Excitement has been building all over Muleshoe with the month of August bringing that excitement to a peak with the two Mule scrimmages giving the fans their first real look at any changes the Mules may be making.

Turnbow Signs With LCU

Tyson Turbow, a 2011 graduate of Muleshoe High School and the son of James and Shelly Turnbow of Muleshoe, will be joining the Lubbock Christian University Chaparral’s basketball team, according to head coach Todd Duncan.

After three years playing college golf, Tyson Turnbow is turning his focus to Chaparral basketball as a junior guard.

The Muleshoe graduate played his freshman college year on the links for Midland College and has spent the past two years competing for Texas Tech University.

Here at MHS, Turnbow earned All-South Plains and All-Region recognition on the basketball court, averaging 15.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game as a senior.

Turnbow was a 2011 golf state champion and a two-time third-place finisher at state in tennis.

While at Midland College, he was an all-American golfer, finishing tied for eighth place at the 2012 NJCAA national tournament.
