Mules Take Top Title At Nazareth

The Mules finished up Spring Break by winning the Nazareth Swift Baseball Tournament Friday and Saturday.

Memphis fell to the Mules 5-1 in the Mules first game Friday afternoon.

Jesus Manzanares was the Mules winning pitcher and Danny Campos came in to finish the final two innings.

Wes Clarkson pitched the Mules to a 5-4 win over the Lubbock High Westerner JV. Again Campos came in to finish the game Friday evening."

‘Waterproof’ Lady Mules Victorious At Clovis Mud Pit

The Lady Mules proved to be flexible as well as waterproof Tuesday as they defeated the Clovis JV 8-5.

Their game with the Frenship JV was canceled and the Clovis Lady Cats JV were substituted.

The game was scheduled to be played in Muleshoe but was changed at the last minute to Clovis.When the Lady Mules arrived at the Lady Cats’ field they were working feverishly to get the field ready to play.

JV Ladies Come Up Short Against Clovis

The JV Lady Mules came up a bit short in a rain shortened game with the Clovis Lady Cats Tuesday evening.

The Lady Mules ran out time when the game was stopped after four innings and the Lady Mules trailed 4-3.

Clovis scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning. A double and a walk put runners at first and second.

A passed ball and a wild pitch allowed one run to score. A squeeze bunt to third base scored the second run.

Conley Takes Bronze At State Meet

Kenzie Conley competed in the THSWPA State Powerlifting meet this past Saturday, in Corpus Christi.

She was one of only 10 girls who qualified for state from 1A/2A, in her weight class. Kenzie entered the state meet with the fifth best lift total in her class.

She began the meet with Squat, where she attempted what would have been a personal best, but came up just short. Kenzie followed this up by achieving a personal best in the Bench Press, with a lift of 135 pounds.

She entered the final lift of the day sitting in fifth place, needing to reach a personal best in the Dead Lift in order to finish in the top three.
