Mule Defense Smothers River Road

The Mule defense smothered the River Road Wildcat Wishbone offense. The Mules held the Wildcats to just three first downs on 81 yards rushing and 31 yards passing for a total of 112 yards of offense.

The Wildcats only touchdown came on a blocked punt that rolled into the end zone. Wes Clarkson never had a chance to get the punt away with the rush coming untouched up the middle.

The defensive TD tied the ball game at 7-7 with just over eight minutes remaining in the first half.

JV Mules Stampede Over River Road

The JV Mules stampeded over the River Road Wildcats 40-20 in the district opener. A running clock to ended the contest early.

The Mules ran a Starburst return on the opening kickoff to the Mule 49. Evan Paez set the tone for the game with a 12-yard run on the first play of the game.

The Mules first drive stalled out on the Wildcat 25. River Road gained five and two yards on their first two plays but Boo Flores and Dylan Miller got in the backfield for a yard loss on third down.

Junior High Cross Country Competes At Sundown

The seventh and eighth grade Lady Mule and Mule cross-country teams had to combine to compete in the Sundown Roughneck Cross-Country Meet this past Saturday. The girls placed seventh out of 24 total teams.

Liliana Martinez led the Lady Mules and received the seventh place individual medal with a time of 14 minutes 58.23 seconds.

The Mules completed the three-mile course and placed fourth out of 15 teams.

Freshmen Mules Keep Winning Streak Alive

The freshmen Mules kept their winning streak alive at five straight wins. They defeated their only district opponent 38-6.

The Mules and River Road Wildcats are the only two freshmen teams in District 1-3A.

The Mules both opened and closed district play with win for the District 1-3A Championship Thursday evening.

River Road kicked off to start the game and Arnulfo Hernandez returned the ball 27 yards to the Mule 45. Isaac Mendoza kept the ball on a quarterback sweep for eight yards.
