Childress Falls To Muleshoe, 44-14
Thursday, October 30, 2014
The Mule defense smothered the running game of Childress and held the Bobcats to just nine yards on 19 rushes.

Two Mule miscues allowed Childress to hang close in the first half. But the Mules came out firing on all cylinders in the second half to defeat Childress 44-14.

“The long ride did not hurt us tonight,” said Mule coach David Wood. “Childress was not the longest trip for us this year and I believe that made a big difference. It was good night for us.”

The freshmen Mules rolled over the Plainview Bulldogs 50-0 Thursday evening. Michael Lozano returned the opening kick to the Mule 43.

Isaac Mendoza scored on a 53-yard run on the Mules’ second play but it was called back to the Plainview 31 because of a penalty.

But it was only a slight set back for the Mules. Mendoza tossed a swing pass to Arnulfo Hernandez and the play went for 11 yards. Hernandez went left and was taken down by his facemask. When the dust settled the Mules had a first and goal at the Plainview three-yard line.
