Muleshoe Area Public Library is decked out with colorful displays in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.  The library began the first-time event on Sept. 15, and it will continue through Oct. 15.

Dance dresses represent the Music highlight during Hispanic Heritage Month.

A mini-event and tour of the displays was held on Sept. 15, according to assistant librarian Frances Recio. More than 25 patrons attended the event.

“Margie Alarcon and Lucee Rodriguez helped us decorate our meeting room for Hispanic Heritage Month. A big thank you to these wonderful ladies,” Recio said.

A different aspect of Hispanic Heritage is highlighted each Monday from 4:30 through 5:30 p.m. The highlight for Sept. 19 was Quinceañera. On Sept. 26, the highlight was Music.

On Oct. 3, “Vamos! Let’s Go Eat” will be read, and participants will eat yummy food. A take-home activity will be provided.
