Workers are making good progress on the renovation and expansion of Medical Clinic of Muleshoe, according to Dennis Fleenor, Muleshoe Area Medical Center administrator.

“We are completely remodeling the inside and expanding so that we can add another provider,” he said.

The last remodeling of the clinic took place during the 1980s.

“We’re bringing it up to the 21st Century with new wall coverings, new flooring and upgraded equipment. We’ll hire another provider when we find the right one,” Fleenor said.

After longtime physician Dr. Bruce Purdy retired, MAMC made the decision to combine the clinics and renovate the clinic at 701 S. 1st St. At this time, patients are being directed to the hospital across the street.

“I’m really excited about being able to expand to better meet the needs of the community,” Fleenor said.

Fall is the time to start thinking about vaccinations, and Muleshoe Area Medical Center is ready.

“We have pneumovacs for those over 50, HPV vaccines for 12 to 15 year olds, COVID boosters, COVID vaccines and shingles vaccines,” Fleenor said. “Call the clinic for an appointment.”
