The Muleshoe boys track and field team placed in the top three in 10 different events on their way to claim the district championship Friday at Denver City.

The Mules and Lady Mules placed first in six different events and qualified 15 athletes.

The Mules and Lady Mules qualified for area in all six relays. The Mules claimed first in the 4x400m and 4x200m relay and second in the 4x100m dash. The Lady Mules also placed first in the 4x400m relay. They placed second in the 4x200m relay and fourth in the 4x100m relay.

Individually, Daniel Sianez placed first in the 200m dash and second in the 400m dash. Vida Mora also placed first individually and qualified for area in three events. She nearly claimed the sprint champion crown, placing first in the 200m and 400m dash. She was also a part of her team’s 4x400m relay that placed first at the meet.

The athletes who qualified for the area meet will travel back to Denver City Friday to compete in the Area 3-4 meet.
